10 happy things and Healthy Eating.

So I am trying to eat really good lately... This week we have had some yummy things to eat and I was in the mood to blog about it... (And not write my paper that is due Sunday!)
Well, while I am trying to be good- Cake boss was on our tv the other night- which prompted Sloan to REALLY want cake. So being a good wife we went to get him ingredients for me to make him one...
I caved and had some the first night and after that I have not had any.  I am so proud. So the list of happiness this past week-
1. I have will power.
2. Sloan and I made roasted veggies the other night and they were to die for...
So I bought some more and I am hoping to make them soon before we take a trip home.
3. Low calorie black beans, salsa, and Greek yogurt! SO good! SO much protein = SO full! I love it!
4. One night we made grilled chicken, and asparagus! Very light and tasty!
5. KEY LIME PIE... Well, not really- but I have found a little very low cal "treat" with yogurt that makes my brain think I am eating a slice of pie! ;)
6. Fiber one cereal.
7. Coffee with ice in it- in a mason jar.

8. That I like goat cheese now. We found a cheaper one too- way to go Walmart!
The last two are not food related-
9. Making great Great G R E A T friends here in Savannah :) Blessed with a man that kisses me goodnight every night and sometimes brings me coffee in bed!!!!!!!! And Oh course it's PROJECT RUNWAY WEEK:) DUH!
10. I figured out a way to go home! Although I will be doing homework at home- I will be with family for a few days:) Pure joy!

"Happy 4th ya'll"- as a Dokken!

Happy 4th ya'll!
Sloan and I enjoyed sleeping in today. It was so nice to have an extra weekend day since we are both doing school, and he had no work. Honestly though, when Sloan and I woke up today, we were feeling a little sad on this fourth. Maybe not sad, but we knew it was going to be so different. We weren't getting ready in a hustle to do the things we normally do. We were not going to Monteagle Mountain, or my best friend Emily's granny's house for fireworks. We had not thought ahead to ask friends over and knew they all had plans. So, we got up and had our breakfast and coffee and made it a Sloan and Lilly day! Let me tell you, it was SO fun! I loved my first 4th as a Dokken and am very thankful it was just us two today! It most likely won't happen again, so we are thankful for it!!!  I took some pictures of the day and was just going to post them- (on my iphone :/ because my camera charger is MIA. Therefore, it doesn't work. Best buy didn't have one either!!!)

So while eating our breakfast and drinking our coffee, we watched HGTV. While mom and aunt Holly were here last week, I guess we got hooked;). We talked about our plans and decided the following:
1. Sloan wanted to grill "American" food tonight.
2. We needed to go get "American" food.
3. We may go to the beach- mind you this is not really like us!

So, we went and ran errands and got the food we wanted for tonight. I have been craving banana pudding for a week now because when Holly was here, my cousin Elliott made some, and he kept calling for directions. So, naturally, it being one of my favorites I have been dying to make a low- calorie version. Being a perfect day for it, I did! I even made it with a "star" on top for America.

After we got back from our errands, I made the pudding and put it in the fridge to chill. We decided we were going to drive to Tybee to take a walk! Above is my Y U M M Y banana pudding. It was very tasty and not too bad for you! Sloany said, "It doesn't taste diet." (Not that it was) haha- So that was a big success on our fun day :) !!!
Here is my handsome husband on the beach! The weather was nice! It was actually not too hot, and I do not say this much, but the weather made me want to be there for more than a walk.  I actually felt like laying out and being a beach girl! HA! That does not happen to us two too much! We like the beach, but we are not "beach people." (We did go to snow on our honeymoon!)
So I thought my glasses would cover up that I blinked haha! But oh well, it is all I had of the two of us there!!! We didn't park at the pier, so the beginning of our walk was calm, but as we walked closer it got   S O   crowded! I mean it was insane, but very fun/ funny to people watch!
Tybee's water was not close to the shore today! Low tide. I was loving the texture and shapes the little, what I called, "canals" made!
 Pretty huh?!?!
Under the pier... took me a few tries to get this one woman out of it;)
HAHAHA! We thought it was a jelly fish because we had seen a lot of sand dollars, drift wood, and one man was holding some BIG thing that looked like a sting ray! But as we got closer it was clearly not a jelly fish. I laughed very hard and said to Sloan- "Looks like someone lost their implant haha!" Too funny!
 Loved these lines... Inspiration people!!!
 Ohh ahhh...
Sloan and I discovered a noise that we enjoyed a lot! (Once we got back here away from the crowded pier.) The sand blowing across the beach sounded so pretty! It was the most peaceful noise! I have never really heard it! You know when you go to the beach you just listen to the waves, but next time you go- listen (if the wind is good) for the sand blowing!
God's beautiful work! Sloan and I had a great walk, and we decided to head home to make "America" food!
We cooked big. Lol. For leftovers. We tend to do that. Overcook where we can have it for a few meals. It is easier since we do have different schedules some days!!! Pony made burgers, hot dogs, fries (normal and sweet potato because he loves them both,) I made the green beans, condiment plate, baked beans, and banana pudding! It was just so "American" and we loved it!
 Lover boy's meal.
 Lilly girl's meal.
And of course, lots of left overs!!!

After dinner we made coffee and ate some to die for pudding haha- and decided to go towards the bay to see "The best fireworks in south east." We parked at my second home- Fahm, the metals and jewelry building. We were early because we knew it would be crazy down there, which it was more crazy than we expected! Instead of rushing to the bay to watch in a crazy crowd we waited to see if we could see them from where we were, and we could. We could not see all of them, but we could see all the big ones. They would pop over the postal service building! Honestly, it was not "The best in the southeast." I do not know how they go that title, at one point I painted my nails I was just not too impressed lol, but we enjoyed the experience!

 Before the firework show!!!

Us waiting for the fireworks at fahm!!!

My Iphone wasn't really capturing the fireworks, but here area couple of shots!!!

We got home and watched Chelsey Lately (whom we find pretty humorous.) We were supper excited about tonight's episode because Jennifer Aniston was on there. Sloan's crush... and well I like her a lot too!!! So the night is over... the fourth is over, and though we both missed the "usual," we thourghouly enjoyed each others company and just having an us day! It was truly great! I will always remember it!!! God was so good today and I am just one lucky and happy girl!!! My husband just makes me smile!!! Back to school and work and reality tomorrow!!!

God bless America and again, Happy 4th ya'll!!!

Birdy Girl is Blogging!

Before I start  I want to warn you all that my grammar is not perfect, and I am getting use to the whole "blogging" thing :) So, I'm sorry ahead!

I have been wanting to do this, but being in school has made it hard for me to make my blog like I wanted it.  I used this one for a class assignment, but it was not how I  -r e a l l y-  wanted it.  Yes, I am sure most of you know by my negative facebook status "gag why am I in summer school again," that I am indeed enrolled for summer school.  How am I doing this then you ask?!?  Well, I am only taking two lectures this summer (no studios) and instead of doing my math homework I decided to fulfill the need to vamp up my BLOG!

Since this is my first blog (besides my past assignment) I thought I would blah blah blah to the world about my life in this moment!

Summer school- I am trying to be enthusiastic, but it is hard to get excited when I have family in town the week I start!!!  My mommy, and Aunt Holly (props to her for part of my title) are the only ones here tonight, but Allie, Hayden, and Steve were here earlier this week. Allie is at a friends near by and she will return tomorrow night. (I've missed that little girl!) Sadly though, they will be leaving Saturday! It has been very fun!  I love my family, but since I do enjoy their company so much, it is difficult to realize that I have to go to school...  I am taking hybrid 20th Century Art History. Hybrid is where I go one day a week for a lecture and the rest is online.  I met my teacher today and he is a funny man so I am hoping this will be a fun class!  I am also taking math online.  I had heard to take this class online at SCAD because "It's not that difficult and you do a lot of online work in class anyways."  Well, I am wondering if I will regret this decision (but I am praying not.)  Funny thing- last night, I took the "pre test" and let's just say that I can tell I have not taken math since my Junior year in High school!!!  Any math buffs out there willing to tutor?!? ;) haha.  I should be Okay.  I will just need to work hard like I had to in high school! Math is not my thing.

Marriage- Sloan and I have been married for 3 months and let me count...... 18 days!  Let me tell you that marriage is BLISS!  God has given me a treasure that I do not deserve!  Sloan is my rock and I love waking up to him every single day and kissing him goodnight before I close my eyes!  I am truly just so thankful to God for him!  We have the most tender first home (which is far more than I deserve- my mom is so goooood at her job,) and boy oh boy I don't want to sound boastful, but we sure do keep a clean house!  It is so NICE to have a clean home all the time!  I think that we both feel so lucky to have it we just like to take pride in it!!!  We have different summer breaks, so I was in Tennessee for a week without him to visit Lebanoneseans. Then went to Chicago to see my sweet brother. I love love loved Chicago and want to go back to spend more time in the city!!!  I love love loved being in my TN home as well with family and puppies, but I love love love seeing Sloany everyday again! I missed his whistling:) Anyways... as I said married life is bliss and better than I ever imagined and I am sure I will blog about it more!

I am hoping to use this blog as an update on blips of my life... I want to show things I create as well and explain some of the processes! I know I won't be perfect knowing I have a intense schedule, but who knows?! I have just been dying to try this out and can't wait to blog again!
