"Happy 4th ya'll"- as a Dokken!

Happy 4th ya'll!
Sloan and I enjoyed sleeping in today. It was so nice to have an extra weekend day since we are both doing school, and he had no work. Honestly though, when Sloan and I woke up today, we were feeling a little sad on this fourth. Maybe not sad, but we knew it was going to be so different. We weren't getting ready in a hustle to do the things we normally do. We were not going to Monteagle Mountain, or my best friend Emily's granny's house for fireworks. We had not thought ahead to ask friends over and knew they all had plans. So, we got up and had our breakfast and coffee and made it a Sloan and Lilly day! Let me tell you, it was SO fun! I loved my first 4th as a Dokken and am very thankful it was just us two today! It most likely won't happen again, so we are thankful for it!!!  I took some pictures of the day and was just going to post them- (on my iphone :/ because my camera charger is MIA. Therefore, it doesn't work. Best buy didn't have one either!!!)

So while eating our breakfast and drinking our coffee, we watched HGTV. While mom and aunt Holly were here last week, I guess we got hooked;). We talked about our plans and decided the following:
1. Sloan wanted to grill "American" food tonight.
2. We needed to go get "American" food.
3. We may go to the beach- mind you this is not really like us!

So, we went and ran errands and got the food we wanted for tonight. I have been craving banana pudding for a week now because when Holly was here, my cousin Elliott made some, and he kept calling for directions. So, naturally, it being one of my favorites I have been dying to make a low- calorie version. Being a perfect day for it, I did! I even made it with a "star" on top for America.

After we got back from our errands, I made the pudding and put it in the fridge to chill. We decided we were going to drive to Tybee to take a walk! Above is my Y U M M Y banana pudding. It was very tasty and not too bad for you! Sloany said, "It doesn't taste diet." (Not that it was) haha- So that was a big success on our fun day :) !!!
Here is my handsome husband on the beach! The weather was nice! It was actually not too hot, and I do not say this much, but the weather made me want to be there for more than a walk.  I actually felt like laying out and being a beach girl! HA! That does not happen to us two too much! We like the beach, but we are not "beach people." (We did go to snow on our honeymoon!)
So I thought my glasses would cover up that I blinked haha! But oh well, it is all I had of the two of us there!!! We didn't park at the pier, so the beginning of our walk was calm, but as we walked closer it got   S O   crowded! I mean it was insane, but very fun/ funny to people watch!
Tybee's water was not close to the shore today! Low tide. I was loving the texture and shapes the little, what I called, "canals" made!
 Pretty huh?!?!
Under the pier... took me a few tries to get this one woman out of it;)
HAHAHA! We thought it was a jelly fish because we had seen a lot of sand dollars, drift wood, and one man was holding some BIG thing that looked like a sting ray! But as we got closer it was clearly not a jelly fish. I laughed very hard and said to Sloan- "Looks like someone lost their implant haha!" Too funny!
 Loved these lines... Inspiration people!!!
 Ohh ahhh...
Sloan and I discovered a noise that we enjoyed a lot! (Once we got back here away from the crowded pier.) The sand blowing across the beach sounded so pretty! It was the most peaceful noise! I have never really heard it! You know when you go to the beach you just listen to the waves, but next time you go- listen (if the wind is good) for the sand blowing!
God's beautiful work! Sloan and I had a great walk, and we decided to head home to make "America" food!
We cooked big. Lol. For leftovers. We tend to do that. Overcook where we can have it for a few meals. It is easier since we do have different schedules some days!!! Pony made burgers, hot dogs, fries (normal and sweet potato because he loves them both,) I made the green beans, condiment plate, baked beans, and banana pudding! It was just so "American" and we loved it!
 Lover boy's meal.
 Lilly girl's meal.
And of course, lots of left overs!!!

After dinner we made coffee and ate some to die for pudding haha- and decided to go towards the bay to see "The best fireworks in south east." We parked at my second home- Fahm, the metals and jewelry building. We were early because we knew it would be crazy down there, which it was more crazy than we expected! Instead of rushing to the bay to watch in a crazy crowd we waited to see if we could see them from where we were, and we could. We could not see all of them, but we could see all the big ones. They would pop over the postal service building! Honestly, it was not "The best in the southeast." I do not know how they go that title, at one point I painted my nails I was just not too impressed lol, but we enjoyed the experience!

 Before the firework show!!!

Us waiting for the fireworks at fahm!!!

My Iphone wasn't really capturing the fireworks, but here area couple of shots!!!

We got home and watched Chelsey Lately (whom we find pretty humorous.) We were supper excited about tonight's episode because Jennifer Aniston was on there. Sloan's crush... and well I like her a lot too!!! So the night is over... the fourth is over, and though we both missed the "usual," we thourghouly enjoyed each others company and just having an us day! It was truly great! I will always remember it!!! God was so good today and I am just one lucky and happy girl!!! My husband just makes me smile!!! Back to school and work and reality tomorrow!!!

God bless America and again, Happy 4th ya'll!!!
